An Evangelical Theology of Engagement With Religious Others
Keywords:
Evangelism, Missions, Contextualization, Diaspora MinistryAbstract
As diaspora communities continue to grow in the Western world, Christians in these countries are increasingly coming into contact with adherents of other world religions. These people groups bring with them their deeply held religious convictions such as Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism. In this article we will explore three topics that can serve us when interacting with religious others and navigate some of the theological issues that arise. These include: The Imago Dei and neighbor love, the fallenness of humanity and the Great Commission, and a biblical model for sharing the gospel with adherents of other religions.
